Through the years I bought many typewriters in the streets of Amsterdam on the traditional freemarket on Queensday. This year’s harvest.

Queensday sounds lovely. I must see it someday.
It is precisely the carriage shift that has turned me off of my Olympia Traveller, which I know is a popular machine with many people. I find it sluggish. My vote is that you take an Olivetti Lettera 22, if you happen to have one.

What splendid machines! I have a far older Olympia and cannot comment on newer ones.

Well I can just say that a friend of the typosphere really likes the Olympia. He had it refurbished and seems to be loving it. Personally I love the brand Olympia. I have an SG 1 which is my main workhorse. They are great machines that are up to any writing task you give it. Check out La Vie Graphite
