The German store Manufactum sells brandnew Olympia standard typewriters in a new color (black). The price is steep but considering the fact that it is completely un-used and fresh from Wilhelmshaven, somehow tempting.
This find (plus the whole catalogue of this Manufactum store) steels my conviction that it is not only possible to find people who can and will manufacture a hypermodern 21 century portable manual typewriter, but that it can become a succes. Long live the Phoenix Typewriter. Are there engineers, product designers who can join me in this vision?
You don’t say! You *must* buy it. It looks gorgeous.

The startling thing for me is how little they’ve changed it from the old SG-3. It looks almost exactly the same except for the color–it’s like my cream-colored SG-3 went over to the dark side.
And yes, of course I want one.
